Stephanie Krabill Obituary
On Sunday June 23, 2024, Stephanie Krabill, joined her mother, grandparents, and cousin in heaven. Stephanie was a cherished daughter, sibling, cousin, niece, friend, wife, and mother to her two beautiful daughters, Marie, and Kelsie.
Stephanie was born on January 1st, 1986, to parents Jack and Marie Shattuck. She was the youngest of three siblings, Jessica, and Jack "JD" Shattuck, and grew up next to the family farm in Portland, Michigan. Stephanie was a social butterfly who participated in 4H raising steers and bowling. She had a special relationship with her mother and took every chance she could to keep her memory alive. Stephanie loved animals, especially her beloved fur family members, including her dogs Brittani, Tater, and Mister.
Stephanie was a spiritual soul and incredibly compassionate. People who knew her growing up describe her as someone who stood up for others, treated others with kindness, spoke her mind, and unapologetically followed in her mother's footsteps. Stephanie always provided a safe place to share or just hang out. Her cousins so lovingly described as feeling like home, and how she inspired them as a mother.
Stephanie was a loyal and faithful wife who adored her husband, Ben. She was a loving, doting, responsible parent whose literal life revolved around her girls. She loved deeply. She gave the best hugs, and her infectious laugh was one of a kind. While she settled into a "softer" typical mom routine, those who knew her before motherhood can most certainly speak to her sarcastic side, and the boldness that she was well known for. Stephanie never let an opportunity pass to poke fun and lighten the mood. She was the kind of person that would buy your kid presidential attire for the opposite candidate of your choice. She was hilarious and full of light, and she will be deeply missed.
Preceding Stephanie in death are her mother, Marie Shattuck; grandparents, William and Germaine Shattuck and Abdon Franco and Maria-Elena (Cisneros) Barajas; and cousin, Alan Meyers. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 10 years, Benjamin Krabill; daughters, Marie and Kelsie Krabill; father, Jack Shattuck; brother, Jack D. Shattuck; sister, Jessica Shattuck; father and mother-in-law, Steve and Irene Krabill; brother-in-law, Kenneth Krabill; sister-in-law, Michelle (Brian) Mattheis; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Mike Alber at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will be in Portland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to an educational trust fund for Stephanie's daughters, c/o Lehman Funeral Homes P.O. Box 500, Portland, MI 48875.
