In Memory of Stephanie Kay Kunik
1948-2025
Stephanie passed away peacefully at home in Brooklyn Center, MN on August 25, 2025 with her daughters and husband surrounding her with love and devotion.
She was born October 19, 1948 in Hutchinson, MN to Norris John Gustafson and Delores Elsie (Witte) Gustafson. Her love of traveling and road trips was no doubt fostered by her early years as a daughter of a career military man stationed in Europe following World War II, with many different residences and schools to experience. A graduate of Robbinsdale High School, she obtained an Associates Degree and served many years as a medical assistant before moving into retail sales, where her outgoing personality made every sale a special occasion for her customers.
But her true calling was being a fun-loving 24-hour-a-day, 365 days-a- year Mom (Mumsie to the grandkids-nobody was going to call her Grandma!) and a devoted, loyal wife who provided her husband with a wonderful 32-year long date!
She is survived by her husband John Kunik; her daughters Amber Conlin and Bonnie Fossum of Zumbrota; step-daughter Jennifer Kunik of St. Paul; and her grandchildren Cassidy Fossum of Zumbrota; Jeffrey Fossum of Becker; Logan Conlin and Delaney Conlin of Zumbrota; and her sister Bonnie Warren of Minneapolis.
