RUTLAND Stephanie Michelle Manning, 77, of Rutland passed away unexpectedly at her home Wednesday February 14, 2024. She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on November 19, 1946 to Stanley and Frances (Dobrovolsky) Pielaszczyk. Stephanie was very proud of her Polish heritage throughout her entire life. She grew up in Holden, Massachusetts and attended Nachusett Regional High School. She enjoyed both social and athletic activities, field hockey in particular, while excelling academically. After high school she earned a degree in business administration which she applied towards a successful lifelong business career.
On April 6, 1968 Stephanie married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Manning. Their life of adventure began by living on a boat on Lake Winnipesaukee in NH. They thoroughly enjoyed summers on the water and their winters in the mountains. It was their love of skiing that brought Stephanie, Joe and their children to Vermont where they raised their family in Proctor.
Stephanie cherished her lifelong friends from childhood as well as the friendships she developed in Vermont. Her love of friendships was only outweighed by her love of her family.
Stephanie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandsons were the light of her life and she was often found cheering them on at their sporting events, always their biggest fan.
Stephanie enjoyed cooking, gardening, walking, and enjoying time outdoors during all the
seasons.
Stephanie was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her sister Frances and Walter Kacavich of Worcester, MA; husband Joseph Manning of Rutland Town; son Ted and Jodi (Melen) of Mendon; daughter Tiffany Manning of Rutland; son Jared and Jennifer (Hyde) of Tahoe City, CA; grandchildren: Kyle and Luke DelBianco of Rutland, Jacob Manning of Mendon. and Jordan Manning of Tahoe City, CA, and three nieces. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Christ the King Church, 66 South Main Street, Rutland
VT 05701 on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephanie's memory may be sent to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements were made under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.

What a wonderful lady Stephanie was. The unifying theme of the many memories I have of her - whether Saturday afternoons at the Manning house in Proctor or summers on the lake at the Hastings´ camp - is her genial manner. Always a smile, a laugh, a reminder by her example that there´s usually a bright side to be seen. My condolences to Jared and the family.
