Stephanie L. Smith, 56, of Washington, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at her home.

She was born April 23, 1969 in Peoria to the late Marilyn J. (Schmitt) and James D. Diviney, Jr. She married Rick Smith on September 17, 1988 in Washington; he survives.

Also surviving are their daughters, Brooke (Brandon) Riley and Courtney (Dustin) Falco, both of Washington; her grandchildren, Olivia, Emma, Lennox, Valerie, and Karlie; and her brother, James D. (Reba) Diviney III.

Stephanie was a longtime employee of Washington Senior Living. She enjoyed camping and crafting. She loved her family deeply, especially her grandkids, and loved attending all their events. She was an animal lover and leaves behind her dogs, Lily and Wrigley and her parrot, Gabby.

A celebration of life will be held in July 19, 2025 from 1-4:00pm at VFW Post 9016 in Washington, with refreshments served. Cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to TAPS Animal Shelter.

Dear Rick and family we are so sorry to hear about the passing of Stephanie. We have so many great memories of all the great camping experiences with all of you guys. We will keep praying for your family during this difficult time. Ax and I will see you in July.
