It is with very heavy hearts that we share the news on the passing of our beloved daughter Stephanie Renee Williams, 37, of Columbus, Ohio on February 17, 2025. Stephanie was born on May 31, 1987 to Matt and Jo (Neer) Williams. Stephanie graduated from Worthington Kilbourne High School in 2005 and The Ohio State University in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science and received her Board Certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She was employed as a manager at LabCorp in Dublin, Ohio and previously worked at Nationwide Children's Hospital in downtown Columbus. She performed her clinical internship in Albuquerque, New Mexico and worked at the Ohio State University Medical Center while attending college.
Stephanie's professional passion in life was microbiology and ultimately to serve the patients by ensuring the correct diagnosis of specimens received by the department under her management. She inspired her teams to treat each specimen as if it were from a family member and provide the accuracy they would desire for their own loved ones.
Stephanie had such a welcoming personality, kind soul and witty sense of humor that made everyone around her laugh and just feel comfortable. Her fun spirit, bright attitude, infectious big bright smile that could light up a room and her ever listening ear accompanied her wherever she went. All of these qualities will be profoundly missed by her family, co-workers and many friends. Her memory and spirit will live on in every heart she touched and Stephanie will be forever loved by her parents, family and many friends.
Stephanie loved playing many sports as she was growing up and was an avid volleyball player from middle school through high school. Her favorite vacations were to sunny beaches and we cherish all of the fond memories of every place we visited with her.
She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents Rollie and Irene Williams of McConnelsville, Ohio.
Stephanie is survived by her parents, Matt and Jo (Neer) Williams of Powell, Ohio, Aunt Debbie (Williams) and Steve Willison of Groveport, Ohio, Uncle Tim and Kim (Eveland) Williams of Crooksville, Ohio along with numerous cousins.
Matt and Jo would like to express their love and gratitude to their family and friends, Stephanie's friends and her LabCorp family of co-workers for the outpouring of love, support and prayers we received and which have uplifted our spirits during this very difficult time.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday February 25th at the Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell located at 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell Ohio 43065.
A Celebration of Life Service for Stephanie will be held on Wednesday February 26th at 12:00 PM (noon) also at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell. Pastor Galen Finley will officiate the service. Mr. Finley is a very dear close friend and an honored member of the Williams family for the past 50 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Stephanie's honor. https://secure2.wish.org/site/TR/WishYourWay/Make-A-WishOhioKentuckyandIndiana?px=11093688&pg=personal&fr_id=6652
