Stephen Glenn Balmforth

Stephen 'Steve' or 'Stevie' Glenn Balmforth passed away, at home, on the evening of November 17, 2021. Born on March 13, 1935, on a farm in Woodville Idaho. Steve was the youngest of 11 children born to Joseph Rudolph and Rachel Alberta Heward Balmforth.
At eight years of age, Steve's father passed away and he along with his mother moved to southern Utah, the place he always considered home. It was during those formative years he said, "I was taught respect for authority, love for the gospel, humility in my daily life, and a work ethic that helped me throughout my career." It was also through his childhood that he acquired a love for the grandeur of the outdoors and an appreciation of old farm equipment such as tractors and dump trucks, and in his later years, he was known to collect a few of these items along with other antique treasures.
Steve had five children with Orpha 'Sheree' Zitting and a son with Wanda Robinson. He married Alena Petermann, the love of his life, on June 15, 1981. This union created a lifelong bond between the two of them and their six living children.
Once Steve set his mind to something, he would make it happen. He earned a CDL and a pilot license, was an entrepreneur (the cofounder of two successful businesses; Macrotech Polyseal, Inc. and PneumaTrek, Inc.), and along with many other professions, was an avid salesman. He is remembered saying, "You can sell anything as long as you believe in your product." He also treasured his many wonderful friendships and continually reinforced them through his gentle kindness and quick wit.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his infant son Steven Glenn Balmforth, Jr. He is survived by his wife Alena Balmforth, his children Lee (Cindy) Balmforth, Troy Balmforth, Donna (Steve) Drown, Lezlee Krueger, Brandon (Meredith) Balmforth, and Aaron (Antonia) Brown, his 12 grandchildren and his 12 great grandchildren. Honorary mention, Rita Guzman, whom he considered a daughter.
There will be a viewing and celebration of life at noon on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Holm Heritage Center, 1065 N Carling St, Hildale, Utah. A graveside service will follow at Isaac W. Carling Memorial Park, Colorado City, Arizona
