Steve was born on Friday, April 26, 1968 to the late Stephen William Battin and Donna Bastin in Martinsville. On May 4, 1996, he married his soul mate Cathy L. (Painter) Battin.
Steve was a 1986 graduate of Martinsville High School. He was a former electrician of 20 years at Zimmer Electric. Steve currently was employed with Koller Electric.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy; daughter, Stacy Wingler (Dustin); step-son, Jason Wingler; grandchildren, Baylee Beaman (Emily), Chloe Lyn Cole, and Adailyn Grace Cole; great-granddaughter, Brylee Beaman; mother, Donna Bastin, brothers, William Douglas "Doug" Battin (Kara) and Nathan Battin; sisters, Staci Battin and Amber Woods, uncle, Robert Battin (Karen).
Steve is preceded in death by his father, Stephen; grandmother, Marigrace Battin; mother-in-law, Lois Bennett.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kevin Able officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Costin Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the service Wednesday, starting at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at New South Park Cemetery.
