Stephen J. Blake Jr. (JR), 61, of Peoria, passed away at 5:34 PM on Monday, December 23, 2024 at his home. He was born on November 15, 1963 in Peoria, IL, to Stephen J. Sr. and Brenda A. (Moore) Blake. He married Carri Cravens Andersen on January 20, 2017 in Peoria, IL. She survives.
He is also survived by his parents; one daughter, Taylor Blake; two step-children, Matthew and Lukas Andersen; four grandchildren, Kate Andersen, Makenna Rauhaus, Leif Andersen, and Elijah Andersen; one sister, Danielle (Patrick) Flanagan; three nephews, Sean (Sarah) Flanagan, Andrew (Megan) Flanagan, and Joseph Flanagan; one niece, Genevieve (Chris) Bishop; one great-nephew, Ronan Flanagan; two dogs and a cat, Axl, Rose & Kitty; as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Stephen enjoyed hunting & fishing. He loved his wife, family and his animals. He was also an avid LA Rams fan. Stephen loved God and was a man of faith. He was known as a generous giver of his time, love and protection, caring for all.
He had a career in Logistics and Material management at Caterpillar and most recently working at Kress Corporation. Stephen was always very inquisitive, mechanical and always researching ideas/answers. He was very proud of his Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville, IL. Memorial Service will be held the same day at 3:30 PM. Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate. Burial will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hope Lodge in Rochester, MN.
