Passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, June 16, 2025, at his home. Steve was born on August 14, 1952, in Albion, Michigan. He was raised by his parents Benjamin and Faye (Blackburn) Moles. Steve graduated from Albion High School in 1970 and continued his education at Eastern Michigan University in 1974. He worked at BABHA for 23 years as a case manager, where he was beloved by his clients and colleagues for his calming nature.
Steve was a skilled musician. He taught himself to play the guitar and took pride in teaching others, including Bill Laswell, who went on to become a successful musician/ music producer. Music was Steve's first and enduring love.
He was beloved by all for his kind and generous nature, especially his wife, children and grandchildren. He was united in marriage to the former Jane Caulfield on February 15, 1992, in Bridgeport, Michigan.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Jane, four children; Brandon (Kim) Larkin, Tobin (Stacey) Trevino, Robin (Jason) Delgatto and Lisa Trevino, eight grandchildren; Brenna (Chase) Alexander, Dominic (Messiah) Costello, Nolan Trevino, Gauge Barnes, Ivy Delgatto, Anya Delgatto, Elliott Trevino and Alistair Larkin and two great- grandchildren; Wynonna and Wrenley Alexander, sister, Linda (Mike) Lair and many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, biological father Adolf Collins, sister, Wanda Oliver and brother in-law and dear friend, Floyd Oliver
A Celebration of Steve's Life will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Friends may visit at the funeral home, where the family will be present on Friday from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to American Civil Liberties Union.
