Stephen Anthony (Steve) Craig, 54, of
Grove, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2025, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Born on December 5, 1970, in Chanute, Kansas, Steve was a proud graduate of Chanute High School, class of 1989. He attended Emporia State University before settling in
Grove, Oklahoma. For 30 years, Steve ran a successful flooring installation business, demonstrating his dedication and hard work in the industry.
On December 31, 1998, Steve married Jamie Brock in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they welcomed their son, Colin Anthony Craig, on October 26, 2001. Steve was not only a loving husband and father but also an enthusiastic sports coach to Colin. He cherished coaching his son in multiple sports, sharing his love of athletics and forming lasting memories together.
An avid NASCAR fan, Steve spent many years attending races at various venues and enjoyed watching the races on television. His passion for sports was paralleled by his love for music. Steve's vibrant personality shone through as he would often be found dancing and singing along to his favorite songs, a testament to his joyous and engaging nature.
In his later years, Steve discovered a new passion for boating, spending many relaxing days on the waters of Grand Lake. His final days were spent on a trip to Arizona with his friend Karl, where he enjoyed a cocktail and lounging by the pool under the warm sun.
Steve's larger-than-life personality, ability to converse on a wide array of topics, and his zest for life left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents L.W. Crabtree, Bill and Tula Craig, Howard and Betty Almond, his niece, Carlie Almond and aunt Zona Greene and cousin, Kyle Greene.
Left to cherish Steve's memory, wife, Jamie Craig, son Colin Craig, his parents Jerry Craig and John and Phyllis Almond, brother Brad (Amy) Almond, sister Corrie (Harley) Craig grandmother Norma Crabtree, in-laws Dean and Nina Brock, sister-in-law Deana (Jeff) Miller. He was the proud uncle of Garrett Almond, Brock Miller and Lauryn (Tyler) AraSmith. He was a loving father, son, nephew and friend to many.

Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Nichols Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services in
Grove, Ok. On Friday, December 12, 2025, visitation will be at 1pm followed by funeral services at 2pm, both at First Baptist Church in Chanute, Kansas. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
