Stephen DiUlio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home on Feb. 11, 2026.
Stephen J. DiUlio, 69, of Vernon, loving husband to Leanne M. (Brow) DiUlio, passed away surrounded by his family and friends on Monday, February 9, 2026. He was born on February 16, 1956, in Hartford, one of three children to the late Henry and Mary Ann (Petersen) DiUlio.

Stephen grew up in Tolland and was a graduate of Tolland High School, Class of 1975. Shortly after graduation, he departed for Navy recruit training. He proudly served as a Machinist's Mate. He traveled all over the world and spent a significant time aboard ships in the Mediterranean. While stationed at Philadelphia's Naval Shipyard, he met Bette Walters, who he would later marry. Following his departure from the Navy, he and Bette moved to Swarthmore, and he went to work for The Boeing Company in Chester, PA. Over 30 years, he worked his way up to becoming a Chief Inspector. He was very proud to have worked on the V-22 project.

When he wasn't at work he enjoyed spending time by the pool, riding his motorcycle, golfing and downhill skiing. He skied most of New England with his sister and daughter. Later, he would help his grandson to become a skier in Lake Tahoe. Following the passing of his wife Bette and his retirement from Boeing, he moved to Connecticut. In Connecticut, he married his second angel, Leanne. Here he found he had a love for spending time outdoors. Together, he and Leanne enjoyed camping at Roaring Brook Campground in Stafford Springs. Stephen traveled to the casino and had fun playing the slot machines as well as Pai Gow Poker.

In addition to his wife, Stephen is survived by his daughter, Deanna DiUlio and her partner John Durbin of Wolf Point, MT; his grandchildren, Nathan DiUlio (Robin), Jayden and Skylar; his great-granddaughter, Eden, as well as another on the way, Eve. Stephen was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his daughter, Bette (Walters) DiUlio; his sister, Debby Goulet; and his brother, Joey DiUlio.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rt 83) in Vernon, with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. At the request of his family, burial will be held privately. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring with dates to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 756, Osceola, WI 54020-0756.
