Stephen Otha Douglas

Stephen Otha Douglas, 69, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025 at home while surrounded by his loving family. Stephen was born August 4, 1955 in Guthrie to Charles and Ruth (Blevins) Douglas.
Stephen graduated from Guthrie High School and worked for a local printing company before going on to work for Nestle Purina in Oklahoma City where he retired after 43 years. Whenever he was asked how he was enjoying retirement, his words were, "I highly recommend it!".
Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Douglas and his stepson, Justin Wilkerson.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen Douglas of the home; his brother, Timothy Douglas of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his stepchildren, Howard DeCassios of Guthrie and Catrina Eschenbacher and her husband, Stephen of Guthrie; his grandchildren, Tristin Wilkerson and his wife, Dayln of Coyle,Oklahoma, Cade Anderson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Karinda Wilkerson of Guthrie, Ethan DeCassios of Oregon and Asa Eschenbacher of Guthrie. He also had 4 great-grandchildren, Brycen and Brylynn Wilkerson and Kyson and Aydyn Frederick.
Stephen was the most humble, generous, loving, supportive and unselfish man who always put other people before himself. He touched the lives of countless individuals with his kindness and compassion. To be around Stephen or "Papa" as he was affectionately known by his family was a true blessing. His legacy of kindness will be cherished by his family and friends for generations to come.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 5, 2025 at Smith Memorial Chapel located at 220 North 1st Street in Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
There will not be any visitation.
