Stephen A. Dowhan

Stephen A Dowhan, age 54, was taken from us far too soon while doing one of his favorite things, riding his bicycle. He loved music. For years he worked at a music distribution company where he made a group of friends that talked about music, listened to music on home stereos, and attended live shows. In 2010 he became a Union Member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 26, working countless concerts, performances, and sporting events. If you were at a venue in downtown Grand Rapids, he was likely behind the scenes someplace. He took pride in his role earning additional certifications so he could become a more valuable member of the crew. His meticulous attention to detail served him well in his job and was beneficial to family and friends when he helped them with projects. He was a private person with a kind heart and will be missed immeasurably. He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Kathy, brother Mike, and beloved dog Sia. He is survived by his sisters Chris (Jon) and Lisa (AJ); nieces Sarah, Alana, and Gabby; nephew Jake (Paige); and great-nephew John Raymond. A gathering in his honor is being planned.
