Stephen Allen Gandy, 52, born on September 23, 1972, in Natchez, Mississippi, passed from this life surrounded by loved ones on September 20, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi.
A talented software engineer, Stephen approached his work with curiosity and dedication that carried into all areas of his life. He had a deep love for music, especially the guitar, and found solace and inspiration in both listening and playing.
Stephen's greatest joy in life was being a father. He was most proud of his son, Asher, and their bond was a source of constant pride and fulfillment.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Wanda Hammack Gandy and Sam Gandy of Roxie, MS.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Stephen Asher Gandy of Cleveland, MS; brother Jeff Gandy and wife Lisa of Cumming, GA; their children Laurel and Leighton; his brother-in-life Wayne Combs of Vidalia, LA; His uncle and aunt, Terry and Betty Jean Hammack. his uncle and aunt Phillip and Peggy Gandy of Waynesboro, MS; and his aunt Gail Chaney of Chunky, MS.
Stephen will be remembered for his kindness, deep intellect and the quiet strength he carried through life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service for Stephen will be held on October 12, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Madison, MS.
