Mr. Stephen Mitchell Garrett, age 34, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mr. Garrett was born in Savannah on January 28, 1989 to Charles Garrett and Teresa Marsh Rainey. He was a 2007 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Garrett enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons games, riding dirt road and loved spending time with his son, Payton. He was employed for ten years with Macaljon as a welder before currently working for Coastal Fabrication.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry Marsh and two grandmothers, Barbara Garrett and Linda “Joyce” Fountain.
Survivors include his son, Payton Garrett and Payton’s mother, Delese Garrett both of Richmond Hill; father and stepmother, Charles Garrett and Bridgett Garrett of Ellabell; mother; Teresa Marsh Rainey of Ellabell; brother, Brandon Garrett and his wife Samantha of Pembroke; two sisters, Stacie Hall and her husband Joshua of Ellabell and Ashli Green of Fl and three grandparents, Steve Culver and his wife Bethany of Bloomingdale and Mike Garrett of Ellabell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at LifeSpring Worship Center.
Memorial service will follow at 5:30 p.m. with Pastor Julie Stanley-Mack officiating and military honors conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the trust fund set up for his son, Payton at Navy Federal Credit Union.
