Stephen M. Godzik

Stephen M. Godzik, 78, passed away on August 14, 2024. He was the loving husband of Ellen (Thibeault) Godzik with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on October 27,1945, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Callahan) Godzik. Stephen was a lifelong resident of Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School in 1964. He served our country with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1969 as a Staff Sergeant. Stephen was the ultimate patriot and continued to serve our community and country along with other Veteran service groups including: Vietnam Vets Post 1 in Beverly, American Legion Post 180 in Danvers, VFW Post 2359 in Danvers, Danvers Veterans Council, Danvers Overseas Veterans, PLAV Post 55 in Salem, DAV Post 84 in Salem and Operation Troop Support in Danvers. When not supporting Veterans, you would find him in his massive vegetable garden.
In addition to his wife, Ellen, he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Christine Godzik of NH and Timothy Godzik and Maria Scerri-Godzik of Danvers; his beloved grandchildren, Rebecca Godzik and her fiancé Lucas Grondin, Michael Godzik Jr., Sofia and Katherine Godzik and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Frank Godzik and his sister Jean George.
His Graveside service will be held in Annunciation Cemetery on Friday August 23, 2024 at 10AM. His visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
