Stephen Hanes, born on November 5, 1974, in Lufkin, Texas, to Richard and Mary Hanes, he left this world on June 21, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.
Stephen was a straightforward guy, no sugar-coating with him! His humor and sarcasm kept everyone laughing, brightening up every room with his presence. Stephen was a true Texan who loved fishing, especially with his best friend who was like a brother, Kevin Johnson. Cruising on his motorcycle brought him immense joy, tearing down the open road. He was a true helper, always ready to lend a hand to friends or even stranded strangers during the ice storm, chauffeuring them safely in his trusty Jeep. He had a servant's heart and even served on a mission trip in England. His family was his pride and joy. He shared many memorable moments with his wife, Rene, exploring the open road and going on unforgettable Jeep escapades. The memories he leaves behind will be cherished by all who knew him.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Rene Hanes, children, Ryan Hanes, Eric Hanes, Ethan Carrington, Trinity Hanes, and Raelynn Hanes, parents, Richard and Mary Hanes, brothers Rick Hanes and Joey Hanes, best friend and brother in heart Kevin Johnson, beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.Stephen's memory will live on through his vast circle of friends and the smiles he brought to many faces.
Stephen's funeral services will be held at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, Texas on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 2 in the afternoon. There will be a visitation on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 6 to 8 in the evening at Croley Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Stephen's life. Rest in peace, Stephen, you will forever live on in our hearts.
