Stephen Edward Hobbs of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Friday, September 20, 2024, in Fort Smith. He was born on March 28, 1956, in Fort Smith to Claude Edward Hobbs and Verta Bernice (Shaver) Hobbs. He was 68 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Bernice Hobbs, and a sister, Denice Bercher.
After 45 years, Steve retired from Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith. He was a 1974 graduate of Southside High School in Fort Smith, member of The Ozark Society, Ozark Highlands Trail Association, and member of Lavaca First Baptist Church. Steve loved his family and friends very much and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dottie (Johnson) Hobbs; his son, Justin Hobbs and wife Ashley of Pocola, Oklahoma; a sister, Tracie Steward and husband John of Vilonia, Arkansas; and a grandchild, Ashtin Hobbs.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 23rd at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. There will not be a funeral service.

I've known Steve professionally for years. Everyone in my office loved him and always enjoyed his stories and adventures. Prayers and Blessings to his family. He is gone way too soon.
