Stephen L. Jenkins

Stephen L. "Snoopy" Jenkins, 71, of Thurman, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, following a lengthy illness in Laurels of Athens, Athens, Ohio. Born November 8, 1954, in Gallipolis, Ohio, Stephen was the son of the late Stephen Nelson and Georgiana (McCarty) Jenkins.

A member of the Simpson Chapel Church, Rio Grande, Ohio, he retired from GKN Sinter Metals, Gallipolis, Ohio. He loved the quiet reflection he spent fishing and had a passion for golf. Stephen “never met a stranger” – he enjoyed conversing with all. Most importantly, he was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving daughters, DeAne Jenkins, Tipp City, Ohio and Stephanie Jenkins, Dublin, Ohio; granddaughter, Shelbie Davies, Hamden, Ohio and great-granddaughter, Elise Sutterfield, Hamden; former brother-in-law and best friend, Bob (Kim) Croft, Brookville, Ohio, special friend, John Miller, Athens, Ohio and former wife and mother of his children, Donna Sue Tabor, Sebring, Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by sister, Christine Davis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, March 20, 2026, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio. Private Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Friday 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.
