Stephen "Steve" Eugene Jones, born on November 18, 1966, in Jacksonville, FL is now in the arms of Jesus as of August 15, 2024, after facing a courageous battle with an extended illness.
Cherishing his childhood memories, Steve grew up in Dinsmore and later graduated from Temple Christian Academy. However, Steve found his true home in Baker County, FL after moving there in 2008. Folks appreciated Steve for his easy-going nature and quiet demeanor—he was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a story that would have folks chuckling for days. He was a man of many trades and talents. He started his career as a logger and later found his niche in installing glass for Lee and Cates Glass. He was ever the handyman, always willing to bring his wife’s DIY projects to life.
Family and faith were the cornerstone of his life, and he dedicated the last twenty years to his beloved wife, Krista Jones. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. He was an active member of Grace Fellowship Church and enjoyed his small group.
Steve was especially proud of his children, Steven Todd Jones, Bradley John Jones and Chelsea Leigh Bullard. He loved nothing more than sharing moments of joy and adventure with them. His role as a Papa was equally treasured; he delighted in spending time with little Charlotte Jones and Delilah Drenning, eagerly awaiting the arrival of another granddaughter on the way.
In addition to the joys of family, Steve also treasured days spent fishing, cheering on his Jags & Gators, and trips to Disney. His love for travel also took him to the mountains, Amish country, or anywhere he and Krista wanted to go with their best friend and chauffeur Brandi Pifer.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Krista; his son, Steven Todd; his daughter, Chelsea; his sisters, Karen (Robert) Crews & Brandi Pifer; his grandchildren, who were the delight of his heart; nephew, Kevin (Courtney) Crews; niece, Kate-Lynn (Sterling) Walston; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and friendships turned family who meant the world to him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Inez Jones, and his son, Bradley John Jones.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on August 21, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am, all taking place at Raiford Road Church located at 9201 FL-121, Macclenny, Florida. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service at South Prong Cemetery.
