Stephen Kielb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cochran Funeral Home - Hackettstown on Dec. 21, 2024.
Stephen Kielb, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, partner and friend, passed away on December 18, 2024 at the age of 53. Born in 1971, Stephen grew up in Long Valley, NJ, where he graduated from West Morris Central High School in 1989. He went on to earn his degree from Cook College, Rutgers University, in 1994.
Stephen's professional journey began in sales with Robert Half International, one of the largest staffing firms in the world. He later transitioned to business development roles with leading background check and screening service companies.
Since moving to Cheltenham, PA in 2023, Stephen became a well-known and cherished member of the community, often seen enjoying walks and engaging with his neighbors.
Stephen was a remarkable athlete, excelling in sports during high school and college. He was a Division I lacrosse player at Rutgers University, where he contributed to a Conference Championship win. His athletic prowess was a source of pride, especially his memorable face-off against his brother, Richard, who played at The Ohio State University.
His passion for lacrosse extended beyond his playing years, as he dedicated himself to coaching at his alma mater, West Morris Central High School. Stephen's enthusiasm and commitment to the sport were evident in his coaching, where he inspired many young athletes.
Stephen had a deep love for history, strategy, and foreign affairs. He enjoyed playing chess, gardening, and engaging in DIY projects around the house. His creativity shone through in his meticulously drawn building plans.
Above all, Stephen was a devoted family man. He was a loving partner to Jennifer McCoy, with whom he shared a profound and affectionate relationship. They supported each other through life's ups and downs, creating a home filled with love and companionship. Stephen was also a cherished son to Marguerite and a proud father to his son, Ethan, who was the joy of his life. He was a caring uncle to Connor and Makenzie, a supportive brother to Richard, a brother-in-law to Kerry, and a stepfather to Kaitlyn, Casey, and Michael. Stephen leaves behind many relatives and lifelong friends who will deeply miss him.
To celebrate Stephen's life, a viewing will be held at Cochran funeral home in Hackettstown from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, Dec 22. The funeral ceremony will be held at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Long Valley at 1 pm on Monday, Dec 23 with Father Sylwester Pierzak officiating.
Stephen's legacy of love, dedication, and enthusiasm for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
