Stephen Langford, 70, beloved husband, father, and PawPaw, was called to his eternal resting place on November 18, 2023. He entered this world on July 21, 1953, in Borger, TX, born to Lynn Dale Langford and Myna JoAnn Bean Langford.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Anna Faye Langford of Quitman; three children, Misti Ross and husband Ronnie of Saltillo, Jeremy Sims of Quitman, and John Langford of Quitman; brother, Gary Bob Langford; sister, Christi Pepe; grandchildren, Danielle Ross, Gabrielle Ross, Sabrina Sims, Bryan Sims, Jonathan Sims, Noble Langford, and Josh Langford; and his great-grandchildren Tristan and Lola, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Dale and Myna Joann Langford, and his daughter, Kelly Langford.
Due to his love of sports, he coached kids’ baseball teams in his younger years. He also liked hunting, fishing, playing golf, and riding motorcycles. He married the love of his life, Anna, on December 12, 1980. On February 10, 2010, Stephen retired from his maintenance supervisor position from the County of Dallas and moved to Quitman to enjoy his remaining years.
Stephen served on the USS Kitty Hawk on submarine boomer SK3 during Vietnam while in the Navy; proudly serving his country in the military for 8 years.
A funeral service for Stephen will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations with Brother Shawn Garrett officiating. Graveside service will follow at Quitman Cemetery. Visitation for Stephen will be Friday, November 24, 2023, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Funeral Home.
Serving as Pallbearers will be John Langford, Jeremy Sims, Jonathon Sims, Bryan Sims, Ronnie Ross, and Damon Pollard. Honorary Pallbearers are Sabrina Sims, Danielle Ross, Gabrielle Ross, and Noble Langford.
