Stephen A. Latsch Jr.
82, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025. He was born on August 19, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Stephen A. and Emma (nee Buck) Latsch. He shared a close bond with his younger sister, Elaine Jay (William). Stephen was a loving stepson to Bertha Latsch (nee Carr) and stepbrother to James (Estelle) and the late John (Patricia).
Stephen was a devoted father to his son, Michael (Nancy), and a proud grandfather to Ryan, Christopher, Sean, and Grace. As an uncle, he was cherished by Lori Willis (Kevin) and Susan Willis. Stephen adored his great nieces and nephews: Samantha, Kevin, Emma, and Jacob.
Stephen was a dedicated student who graduated from West Catholic High School before earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Temple University. His commitment to excellence led him to become a Certified Public Accountant, a profession he pursued with diligence and integrity.
Stephen proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966, achieving the rank of Specialist E-5 while stationed at the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. His time in the military reflected his strong sense of patriotism.
Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Stephen found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was a lifelong fisherman who cherished time spent by the water. His passion for trains was evident to those who knew him well, and he was a devoted fan of Philadelphia sports, especially the Phillies. Family was at the heart of everything he did, and he especially treasured time spent in Wildwood, NJ, creating lasting memories with loved ones. Throughout his life, Stephen touched the hearts of those around him with his presence and dedication to family. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on February 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located at 30 East Franklin Street, Media, Pennsylvania, 19063. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM. Internment at Calvary Cemetery in Media, PA will follow the Mass.
Stephen's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his legacy bring comfort and peace to all who mourn his passing.
