Stephen P. Lenci

Stephen P. Lenci, age 69, passed away suddenly on August 3, 2025 at his home in Toms River, NJ. He was born on September 25, 1955, and grew up in the Park Hill neighborhood of Yonkers, NY.

Steve attended Saint Denis Catholic School in Yonkers, NY, class of 1969, where his friends affectionately called him "Lambi". He later continued his education at Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ with a personal interest in internet technologies. He had a varied career as a sales person in many fields, but his proudest role was with Lucent Technologies.

Steve loved to travel and this passion took him around the world. He lived many years with his family in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and he visited nearly every continent in his lifetime.

His passion in life was everything nautical. He moved to Toms River, NJ in 1989 to be close to the water. Whether it was cruising on his boat up the Hudson, water skiing in Barnegat Bay, SCUBA diving in the Philippines, or clamming at low tide, Steve was always found somewhere near the water, usually with dear friends and family by his side. His love for the outdoors extended to winter, having skied many of the famous mountains of the world including Vale, Corviglia, and Whiteface.

Those who knew Steve remember him as a deeply loyal friend & family member. You could call him anytime, anywhere and he would help you without any question. Everyone was his family, and he made everyone feel loved as if they were part of his, from grammar school friends early in life to his many great- nieces and nephews who were more recent additions.

Steve is survived by his son Kyle Reno, daughter Tanya Lee, and best bud Nicholas Victor Coppola III. He was predeceased by his parents: father, Reno, and mother, Katherine (Cheron); and brother, Paul. He is survived by his siblings Robin (Hogan), Edward, William, and Marc.
