Steve was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Lewis Sr; mother, Wilma M. Kenning Lewis; sister, Mary L. Consler; sister-in-law, Kathleen J. Lewis; and nephew, Bradley Lewis Consler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (née Shadders); children, Jeannete Lewis (Rob Dingfelder), Stephanie Spangler (Eric), Stephen K. Lewis II (Jessica Singer); step-children, Harley Thayer (Cathy), Shawn Thayer, Heather Seeger (Matt); siblings, Richard E. Lewis, Jr., Jon Lewis (Vicki), Peter Lewis (Jennifer); grandchildren, Anthony Bologna, Caroline Bologna, Vera Spangler, Eden Spangler, Colson Lewis; step-grandchildren, Sophia Thayer, Clara Seeger; great-grandchildren, Cade Bologna, Raelyn Taggart; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Steve was the most generous of hearts, always helping others in need. He was heartily witty and a skilled conversationalist. He was the greatest of problem solvers, always finding a way; always having the answers. He was selfless and persevered in the face of difficulty, accepting gracefully those situations he could not change without complaint. Through his enterprise, genuinely kind nature, and inspirational journey, he made a positive impact and meaningful contribution to the lives of all those whose paths he crossed.
Steve Lewis will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, April 15th, 10AM at St. Thomas More Church, 2617 East Avenue, Rochester, NY. Interment to follow at White Haven Memorial Park, 218 Marsh Road, Pittsford NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to McQuaid Jesuit High School or the American Heart Association. I had the privilege of working with Steve many years ago (as did my late husband Brad). I'm saddened to hear of his passing. He was a very kind man. May his family find comfort in this difficult time.
