Stephen G. Marks Sr., affectionately known as "Stevie", was born in Kansas City, Kansas on July 29, 1953 to the late Darline (Lloyd) Marks and the late L. G. Marks as their fourth child and the fourth oldest child of ten siblings. He departed this life on October 16, 2025. Two children, Stephen G. Marks Jr. and Anthony B. Marks were born in the union of Stevie's marriage to Toni (Johnson) Marks.
Stevie accepted Christ at a young age. He was baptized into the Christian faith by his grandfather, the late Reverend Otis Lloyd and was a member of Mount Caramel Missionary Baptist Church located in Rosedale, KS. In his early childhood, he attended Hawthorn Elementary School, Northeast Middle School. He later graduated from Sumner High School Class of 1972.
After graduation, Stevie worked for City Wide Cleaning Company for a number of years. Shortly after, he joined the Blue Valley School District as a custodial engineer and maintenance technician. He was a diligent employee within the school district for 25 years. Due to health issues, Stevie retired early from his positions with Blue Valley School District.
Stevie enjoyed the simple things in life yet he was an avid automobile fan.
While he admired Buicks, he had a definitive love for Cadillacs, new and classic. He loved spending time outdoors on the grill barbecuing for different events.
Stevie was proceeded in death by his mother, Darline (Lloyd) Marks, elder sister, Theresa (Marks) Broadway, younger brother, Gary Wayne Marks, his son Anthony B. Marks, and eldest brother, Larry G. Marks Sr.
Stevie survived by his son; Stephen, G Marks Jr.; his sisters Lorrie Marks and Tonya Marks; his brothers Barry Marks, Daniel Marks, Ricky Marks, and Reginald Marks. He leaves to cherish his memory; his granddaughters Amyrah Marks and Diamond Myers; his grandson Jaydyn Marks; his grandchildren; his great grandchildren; his first cousins and their children; his "Right-hand Man" and oldest nephew Rodney Marks; his nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th, 2025, from 10:00am-11:00am, with funeral services starting at 11:00am. Burial to follow in Highland Park Cemetery.
