Stephen Wesley Mudd, 45, of Prestonsburg, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2025 at Pikeville Medical Center following a car accident. He was born on October 15, 1979 in Bardstown. Stephen was employed by Mountain Comprehensive Care as a Community Health Worker. Stephen was passionate about his artistic creations and had recently established a webpage, Stephen Mudd Fluid Arts.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard D. Mudd, Sr., Jane O. Mudd and Herman and Pauline Brown.
He is survived by his parents, Susan Mudd (Ken King) of Bardstown and Leonard D. Mudd, Jr. and Helen Mudd of Bardstown, his sisters, Kristi L. Dunn of Prospect, Kimberly N. Mudd-Fegett (David) of Elizabethtown, Anita Kate Broaddus (Jake) of Bardstown, his grandparents, Rudolph and Mary Leathers of Bloomfield, his aunt, Doris Leathers of Lexington, his nephews, Elliott Mudd, Zander Keeling and Cole Fegett, and his best friend, his dog, Nelson.
Funeral services for Stephen Wesley Mudd will be 11:00 am Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown. Bro. Rodney Lynch and Bro. Jonathan Gann will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-8:00 pm. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to The Humane Society of Nelson County. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lenny and family, Jim and I are so sorry for your loss of Stephen. Our thoughts of love and sadness are with you, and we wish you did not have to suffer such a life experience. There are no correct words to say that will make better what you must be feeling. Please know we are thinking and praying for you as you grieve. You are strong and with your faith, life's tragedies will be bearable.
