Stephen Murray Nussbaum

Stephen Murray Nussbaum, born on February 9, 1945, in Queens, New York, passed away on December 27, 2025, at the age of 80. He left this world while traveling on his Harley-Davidson Trike on Highway US 25 in Henderson County, North Carolina.

Stephen spent his professional life as a dedicated jewelry caster, a career from which he retired with pride. Outside of his work, Stephen had a zest for life and a wide array of interests. He found joy on the open road through his love of motorcycle riding, cherished the pleasures of fine dining, and was an avid fan of rock 'n' roll music, experiences that filled his days with happiness and adventure.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, David Nussbaum and Ruth Alman Greenberg.

Stephen's memory lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind: his devoted life partner of 34 years, Shirley Gruenhut; his daughter Michelle Nussbaum of Hendersonville, North Carolina; his son Roy Nussbaum and granddaughter Stephanie Nussbaum, both of Denville, New Jersey; brother Alan Nussbaum of Ashland, Oregon; niece Tatum Nussbaum; and nephew Evan Nussbaum.

The family will announce services to honor and celebrate Stephen's life at a later date. His loved ones take comfort in the memories of his vibrant spirit and the legacy of love and passion he shared with all who knew him.
