Stephen K. Nyikos, 59, of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at The Laurels of Goshen.
He was born August 19, 1964, in Goshen.
On April 16, 2016, he married Victoria Joseph in South Bend.
She survives along with his mother, Elsie (Hartman) Nyikos; a brother, Frank Nyikos Jr. of Unionville; three sisters, Catherine (Randal) Shankster of Cromwell, Mary (Nub) Lowry of Clunette and Jean (Steve) Tarner of Milford; his boys, Toodles, Georgie and Timmy and his girls, Kiki and ok.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Nyikos, Sr.
A graduate of Wawasee High School, Stephen worked as a computer programmer for Goshen Health, creating templates for Goshen Physicians. He and his mother had a retail Hosta garden, Shadow Gardens for 15 to 20 years, where he and Victoria met and started dating in 2008.
Stephen was fluent in Spanish, after living in Spain for a year. He enjoyed Sci-Fi books and considered himself a "foodie" – finding new restaurants to try and new recipes to prepare at home. He and Victoria enjoyed traveling together.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen. Sister Nora Frost will officiate.
Cremation will follow the service.
The family requests no flowers be sent in order to keep Stephen's pets healthy. Memorial donations may be sent to Fernwood Botanical Garden, 13988 Range Line Road, Niles, Michigan 49120.
