Stephen Ross Parrish

Stephen Ross Parrish, 56, of Abilene passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Trinity Baptist Church, 871 Woodlawn Dr. Abilene, Texas 79603, with Scott Johnston and Rodney Love officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Stephen was born February 9, 1969, in Odessa to Alvin Ross and Christine (Hurlburt) Parrish. He graduated from Ysleta High School in El Paso and attended El Paso Community College. He married Tammy Johnston in Abilene on February 12, 2000. He worked as a control officer for Taylor County Jail for a few years and for Labor Ready until health issues forced him to retire.

He is survived by his mother, Tina Parrish of Anson; his wife, Tammy of Abilene; three children, Jared Ingram and wife Bethany of Tyler, Heather Waggoner and husband Brandon of Hurricane, West Virginia and Hannah Caton and husband Alex of Abilene; two brothers, Mark Parrish and wife Nellie of Abilene and Ryan Parrish of Odessa; fourteen grandchildren, Benjamin, Dakota, Andrew, Caleb and Jubilee Ingram, David, Bailey, Bryan, Avery and Emma Caton, Josiah, Benaiah, Aslyn and Shiloh Waggoner; his mother-in-law, Brenda Johnston of Abilene and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Parrish and his father-in-law, Frank Johnston.
