Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel, 886 North Farish Street, Jackson, Mississippi. His Final Resting Place will be Mount Zion Cemetery, Lake, Mississippi.
Stephen N. Patterson was born November 9, 1979 to Cinderella and Douglas Patterson at Women's Hospital in Flowood, MS. He died May 30, 2025 at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Conyers, GA.
He left Mississippi at a very young age and moved to Atlanta, GA. He took care of his younger brother and made certain he was taken care of at daycare. He played football for Stone Mountain Pirates and Shamrock High School. He played basketball at the Toby Grant Recreation Center. He won lots of medals for swimming.
When Steve was a teenager he returned to Mississippi and worked for Pepsi, Fed Ex and DI. Four years ago he returned to Conyers, GA and was working for TJ Maxx and Federal Express at the time of his death.
He gave lots of advice whether you wanted it or not. He was very outspoken and a giver. He loved to barbecue and give it to friends and relatives. His nieces and nephews loved him for his down to earth approach. He was a great mentor to them. He had no children so he was always telling them about life.
He was a very hard worker and a good friend to all. His coworkers all talked about his work ethic. His friends all have stories of the good times with Steve. He loved his old truck and put lots of work and money into it.
We will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Tommie and Lucille Wash; his aunt, Tommie Ruth Gaines; and uncle, Alvin Wash.
He is survived by his mother, brothers, Derrick and Norman, aunts and uncles, Marilyn Wash, Curtis (Brenda), Connie, Minnie Ruth and nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
