Lancaster, Ohio

Stephen "Steve" Rayburn, 79, was called home by his Heavenly Father on September 12, 2025, with his family by his side. Steve was born on January 26, 1946, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the ninth of twelve children, to Robert and Evelyn (Wiley) Rayburn, who preceded him in death.

Steve was a 1964 graduate of Bloom-Carroll High School. He loved his work as a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers, Local 18, District 3. Steve took pride in his work and was honored that equipment manufacturers sought his opinion on their new equipment.

Steve loved the Lord, his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was happiest spending time with his large family and thoroughly enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing his guitar, boating, and relaxing around a campfire. He was loved and cherished by all who knew him.

He is survived by the love of his life, Colleen (Steele) Rayburn of Lancaster; son, Ronald (Kristi) Rayburn of Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Brandi Rayburn, Josie Rayburn, Ashley Welsh, and Joe Wireman; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Caroline, Georgia; and brother, Harold "Jidder" (Helen) Rayburn, Tom Rayburn, and twin brothers, Jim (Linda) Rayburn, and John Rayburn; and sisters-in-law, Ethel Rayburn, and Becky Rayburn.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Wireman; brothers, Bob (Dorothy) Rayburn, Royal (Faye) Rayburn, George Rayburn, Wayne Rayburn; sisters, Mary Ann (Jim) Clark, Betty (George) Whitt, and Juanita (Arnold) Jenkins; and sister-in-law, Pat Rayburn.

Services celebrating Steve's life will be held at a later date. The cremated remains will be inurned in Memorial Park Cemetery.
