Stephen Slechta Obituary
He is lovingly remembered by brother, Paul (Debby), and sister, Kay, along with nieces and nephews Heather, Eric (Shannon), and Mark (Amy).
Stephen (Steve) attended Hopkins Schools and was captain of the basketball team in high school. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family members. The Slechta family had property on Thunder Lake near Remer, MN. This cabin holds many memories across many generations of family and friends.
He graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in business. He also spent time in the army reserves. As a CPA, he built his career at Control Data Corporation, which was eventually reconfigured, so Steve retired from Ceridian in 2010.
Steve has been a caregiver his entire life, and was always there to help a friend or family member. Over the years, he owned sporty vehicles and a few fast boats. Many of us will never forget riding in his yellow Hydrostream boat and hanging on while racing across Thunder Lake.
Lastly, many of us will always remember Steve's love for his dogs; three generations of cocker spaniels and springer spaniels named Remus and Reggie.
A celebration of life will be held amongst family members on July 24th at Saint Margaret Cemetery in Minnetonka, MN. www.Washburn-McReavy.com

I used to date Stephen at the U of M. I ran his boat into the dock. He let me drive it and i did not know how. We went to Frat parties and football games together. My sister went out with Paul..Her name was Jennifer. We doubled. I moved to California. Stephen stayed in Minn. He was a gorgeous guy. I have pics of us but I don't know where they are now. I think he drove a Malibu. I am on face book under Kellie Forman.

I remember all the fun we had at St. Cloud and later in Roseville with all our friends. I remember hunting with Steve and Kay in northern Minnesota. I'm glad we got together 2 years ago at the assisted facility he lived at. My thoughts and prayers for you my friend and your family. Mark Fitzsimmons
