Stephen W. Steranko, 80, passed away the morning of Saturday, December 20th, surrounded by his loving family in his Muhlenberg Township residence.
He was the loving husband of Linda A. (Klemmer) Steranko for 60 years.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John and Lottie (Kapelski) Steranko.
He was a graduate of Reading High School.
Steve was a dedicated family man and a diligent worker. His natural aptitude for problem-solving led him to successfully establish and operate A+ Repair and Supply for many years. Known for his expertise in repairing copiers and fax machines, he earned the trust and loyalty of his customers through his hard work and commitment to quality service.
Steve had a passion for music beginning with his band The Starlites in which he played the guitar. The Starlites made several records and even won the battle of the bands. His favorite band was The Beatles who he loved to listen to and play as much as possible. When he wasn’t playing music, he spent his time building and flying model airplanes, skydiving, and always looking for humor in every situation.
Family and faith were most important to Steve where he was a member of Praise Christian Fellowship where he served on the worship team as well as being a minister of the word of God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children: Cynthia, wife of Joseph Benish, Westfield, MA, and David, husband of Tina Steranko, Merritt Island, FL; and two brothers, Jim Steranko, of Reading and Ted Steranko, of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Briana, wife of Brian Baird, Talin Cottle, and Tyler, husband of Cheyenne Cottle; and three great-grandchildren: Brayden, Oakley, and Maddie.
A Celebration of Life Services will be on Monday, December 22nd at 6pm at Praise Christian Fellowship, 323 June Ave, Blandon, PA 19510. A visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Praise Christian Fellowship. Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Temple is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
