Stephen Joseph "Steve" Twilliger

Stephen Joseph Twilliger (Steve), 75, passed away peacefully at his home on February 25, 2026, following a nine-year decline due to Primary Progressive Aphasia (FTD) He was born on September 5, 1950.

Steve was predeceased by his father, Raymond J. Twilliger; mother, Elizabeth (Oster) Twilliger and brother, James Twilliger. Survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Jean (Trendell) Twilliger; sons, Stephen (Amanda), Kevin (Laura); brothers, Tom Twilliger (Laura) of PA, Edward Twilliger (Debbie) and Raymond; beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Catherine, Owen and Alden; many close family and friends.

Steve was a lifelong resident of Greece, New York. He grew up on Hoover Drive, attended St. John's Primary School, and graduated from Olympia High School, where he met the love of his life, Jean. They were married in September,1972 and built a beautiful life together that spanned more than five decades.

Steve began his career as a machinist with Farrell Corporation for 12 years before dedicating 30 years of service to Wegmans Food Markets leading their Store Maintenance Department. He took pride in his work and in providing for his family.

Above all else, Steve cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Jean, proud loving father and a grandfather whose heart grew with every addition to the family. Watching his sons build their own lives with their loving wives and children brought him so much joy. He was handy and hardworking, always tending to his home and yard. He enjoyed a good round of golf, and had a natural gift for striking up conversations wherever he went making everyone he met feel instantly welcome and at ease. When Steve entered the room all felt right with the world. He will be remembered fondly for his easygoing nature, his warm smile, and his ability to make everyone around him feel like they belonged. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

His Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3450 West Ridge Road, Greece, NY 14626. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
