JACKSON-STEPHEN B. WATERS passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. He was 84 years old.
Born in New York, NY, to Conrad and Rhoda (née Kulick) Waters, he resided in Matawan before settling down in Jackson 19 years ago.
Prior to retiring, he was a Physical Education Teacher for New York Board of Education where he worked for 33 years. He was an assistant football coach in Brooklyn and at Matawan Regional High School.
In his spare time, he enjoyed skiing, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family, especially tailgating at Rutgers football games for the past 31 years.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Susan Waters (née Sroka) of Jackson; his son, Matthew Waters and his wife, Lisa; his daughter, Conni McDermott and her husband, Martin Sr.; his grandchildren, AJ, Erica, and Martin Jr.
A temple service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 10:45 am, at Temple Shalom, 5 Ayrmont Lane, Aberdeen. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge. For directions, please see "Events" listed below.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rutgers University Rfund at https://give.rutgersfoundation.org/athletics/, supporting student athletes or a charity of your choice in Stephen's honor.
