Stephen Wickes Obituary

Our beloved Stephen Edward Wickes was born in Chestertown, Maryland on May 30, 1964 to
Brenda and the late Walter Edward Wickes, Jr. Stephen passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024
surrounded by his loving family.
Stephen graduated from Delcastle Technical High School, Wilmington, DE in 1982. During his
high school years, he was a master in Culinary Arts and excelled in football where he received
all-conference and all-state honors. He left his mark on High School football fields throughout
Delaware, and people still remembered him today. People would often approach him with the
salutation of "I remember playing against you in High School.
" People still remember him today. He later attended Clarion University in Pennsylvania and went on to work for Comcast for many years.
Stephen was a kind and loving soul and was always there for his family. He was known for his
gentle, calm, and positive personality. As a lifelong passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan, you
would always see him proudly representing his team in his black and yellow on any given day
or season of the year.
Stephen loved to play with his furry companion Pinky as well as loving many styles of music.
During his early college and later years, "DJ Feel It" as he was professionally called, would
always bring his A-game when he would prepare and execute his side hustle. He was an advent
video gamer and enjoyed all kinds of gadgets.
He is predeceased in death by his sister, Ellen Crickett Gray.
Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Novia Wickes; his mother Brenda Wickes; his mother-in-law
Gwendolyn Paxton; his blended family Stephen, Jr. (Andrianna), Christopher (Victoria), Lynee
(Sharod), Bobbie-Ni'Kole, CJ; his furry daughter Pinky; grandchildren, Sage, Sienna, Ja'Novia,
Noveya, and Aashea;. his loving siblings, Robin, Darren (Kristie), and Kelly, and brothers-in-
law Sam Gray and Kevin Paxton (Tanya). Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins,
nieces, nephews, close friends as well as a devoted family friend Ms. Fran Marks.
Stephen will be greatly missed by family and friends and will forever remain in our hearts.
