Steve Avery Obituary
Steve was born on October 12, 1976, in Atlanta, Georgia, to his parents, Michael David Avery and Sameria Gay Duzan Avery. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Sameria D. Avery, who passed in 2008. Steve owned his own business working as a landscaper.
Steve was an avid fisherman and hunter and a wonderful father.
He is survived by his wife, Shana Wells Avery; and his children, Scott and Sierra Avery of Thomaston, Ga., Jacob Huffman of Hampton, Va. and Stanley Avery of Griffin, Ga. Also survived by nieces and nephews Mackenzie, Nick, Eli and Emily Huffman of Warner Robins, Ga, as well as his neighbors and closest friend, Tony Cheely.
Steve's funeral will be held at New Salem Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 18, 2025. The church is located at 57 Bicycle Rd. Griffin GA 30223. There will also be a reception following the funeral at the Avery home. You are welcome to join!
