Donald Stephen Disbro, 76, of New Castle was unexpectedly called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 1, 1948, in New Castle, IN, a son of the late, Charles Franklin and Imogene (Owens) Disbro.
Bro. Steve graduated in 1967 from New Castle Chrysler High School where he played football and the bass guitar for their band named, "The Letterman". He was a hardworking gentleman and retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2001. Bro. Steve was passionate about ministry for the Lord and served in several churches over the years including Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Connersville, Apostolic Pentecostal Church on 26th street in New Castle, Truth Tabernacle, New Harvest Church, Cross Road Church and current member of Victory Church.
Bro. Steve was a gifted preacher and communicator and devoted many hours to studying the book of Revelation and the prophesies of the end times. He faithfully served the Lord and loved spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 32 years, Barbara Disbro; children, Jennifer (Michael) Loveless, Kimberly (Jerry) Townsend and Tony (Sherri) Jaynes; grandchildren, Brittany (Mike) Biehl, Paige (Jacob) Clark, Alexis (Drew) Jackson, Levi Jaynes, Aidan Loveless and Cole Loveless; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Elliot, Gracie and Reagan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Jaynes; a brother, Terry Disbro and special grandmother, Bessie Owens.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Comer and Pastor Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Lewisville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 – 3 pm prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
