Sadly, Steve King, 60, of Prole, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at MercyOne in Des Moines.
Steve was a private and quietly generous man. He didn’t like to draw attention to himself and hated to get his picture taken, but he enjoyed being ornery in his ways of dodging the camera. Every year, he would purchase a few hundred dollars of Girl Scout cookies to donate to deployed troops, and this year he increased the order for the nurses and staff that cared for him at Winterset Hospital and Clive Rehab.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Barbara (Houlette) King. He is survived by his brother, Mike (Laura) King; sister, Cheryl King; nephews, Sean King and Patrick King; and great niece, Lily King.
In keeping with his wishes, Steve was cremated, and he did not wish to have a funeral service. Steve’s family invite you to please privately celebrate your memories of him in your own way.
Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.
