Steve Mohasci passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Modesto, California, at the age of 81.

Born on April 7, 1944, in Modesto to Steve G. Mohasci, Sr. and Malita Beatrice (Bea) Guinn, Steve spent most of his life between Modesto and Iowa.

Steve proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Bronze Star for his service.

He is survived by his two sons, Brent Mohasci (Katie) and Blake Mohasci, and his beloved granddaughters, Ryan and Lauren Mohasci. He is also survived by his siblings: Whitney Sharp, Malita Bettencourt, Bonnie Papszycki, Mary Brown, Gary Mohacsi, Diana Walker, Steven Mohacsi, Philip Mohacsi, Karen Bird, and Brian Mohacsi. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alan and Gregory Mohasci.

In retirement, Steve found great joy in supporting and following the activities of his granddaughters. He had a passion for studying genealogy, loved traveling with Sandy Strube, a close friend he leaves behind, and took pride in working in his yard.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, devotion to family, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.

Steve will be laid to rest at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Illinois.
