Steve Merlin Smith was the middle brother and son of Barbara and Jerome Smith. He leaves behind his eldest brother Mike. His wife Babs and nephew Matthew. He also leaves behind his youngest brother Jeff and his wife Shari along with his nephew Brendan and niece Kailey.
Steve had a fantastic sense of humor that will be missed. He had a great love of the outdoors, and birds. His favorites were Eagles and Hawks.
Steve enjoyed getting away on his Harley, taking it to the Meca of bikes, Sturgis, South Dakota, with the love of his life Frankie Morris. Together Steve and Frankie lived many great years together. They traveled and raised many happy dogs and cats.
One of Steve's favorite past times was watching the Packers, cheering their good plays and cursing the bad ones. He loved playing cards, dice, darts and pool. We loved the way he'd flip the dice box. Steve was an easy person to know. Chances are, if you needed something he'd give it to you, be it the shirt off his back, a ride somewhere or a few bucks to tide you over.
He loved the woman of his life Frankie Morris and her children, Nicole, Jessica, David and their kids. He loved them as his own.
For those gracious enough to know him, he will always be remembered for his humanity, his love of the wild, a good time and a funny joke.
The family would like to thank the folks of Hospice for their help. Per Steve's request, there will be no showing or services

Steve had been through some tough stuff, but he never showed it. He had a great attitude and he will be missed.

Frankie, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Steve was a truly remarkable person who touched the lives of so many. My Dad has many funny stories from working with him.
My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the memories you shared, and may Steve's spirit live on in your hearts forever.
