Steve Thompson, age 76, dedicated husband, brother, and uncle, passed away on 22 July 2024. Steve was known for his incredible intellect, deep thinking capability, huge heart, and peaceful demeanor.
Steve was born on 5 August 1947 in Charlestown, SC. He graduated from Monticello High School, Monticello, MS in May of 1965. He graduated from Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering in 1969. He entered the professional workforce and continued as a well-respected Nuclear Engineer until his retirement in 2006.
Steve is survived by his wife Jill, of Albuquerque; sister, Sylvia Thompson of Mississippi; sister Patricia Thompson of Georgia, and brother J.T. Thompson of Tennessee. Steve was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Thompson; mother, Jessie Mae Thompson; and sister Nanette Taylor.
Steve loves Jesus, God's Son, who paid our price on the cross. Steve lived his life with a daily goal of letting God's love shine through him and positioning himself in the center or God's will to be used as God saw fit. Steve's church home was Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Albuquerque, NM.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 29, at 5 p.m., at FRENCH-Lomas.
