He is survived by his mother, Ida Ritchie Vanderpool of Lexington; a sister, Tammy Barnes of Nicholasville; a niece, Erica Vanderpool; a nephew, Jason Feigel; great nephews are Austin, Matthew, Teddy; and a great niece, Allana. He is also survived by very special longtime friends, Norma Stidham and Mike Lainheart. Steve is preceded in death by his father, Morton "Sam"; a sister, Kay; a brother, Dennis and a great nephew, Noah.
Services will be held at 12:30 pm Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Kerr Brothers – Harrodsburg Road with Dwayne Walker of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.

Steve was a good man, he loved his family, and loved others. He was quick to crack a joke. My condolences and prayers go out to the family.
