Beloved husband, son, brother and uncle.

WATERBURY – It is with profound sorrow and broken hearts that the family of Steven P. Acri Jr, age 42 of Thomaston, share the news of his unexpected passing of their beloved husband, son, brother, and uncle on Wednesday March 5th 2025, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after an unexplainable illness. He was the husband of Cynthia (Laurie) Acri

Steven was born on February 5, 1983, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, the son of Steven P. Acri and Keiko (Alliman) Acri. Steven’s journey through life was filled with laughter, love, and a passion for helping others, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. He grew up in Watertown, Connecticut and was a proud graduate of Watertown High School, Steven furthered his education at the UConn. Waterbury branch, focusing on Early Childhood Education. He began his career at the Watertown Burger King, where he made lifelong friends and learned the value of camaraderie. His journey then took him to the former Hoyt's and Regal Cinemas in Waterbury before he found his calling at Webster Bank, spending the last 15 years in various roles, most recently as the Call Center Manager. Steven had a deep love for his home in Thomaston, where he shared countless joyful moments with his beloved wife, Cynthia, and their four fur babies. He was a man of many interests, always ready with a notepad and pen, he enjoyed reading (especially the Bible) and writing. His love for sci-fi movies and football added to his colorful personality, while his enthusiasm for politics often led to spirited debates that he invariably enjoyed winning. Steven's infectious sense of humor and generous spirit created happiness wherever he went. He was always bringing a smile to people’s faces with a joke or witty comment and was always the first one to offer help to anyone in need of assistance. Let us all embrace the joy he brought to the world and the laughter he inspired.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, besides his wife Cynthia of 5 years are his parents Steven P. Acri Sr of Torrington and Keiko Acri and her husband Chuck Holdridge of Waterbury, his grandmother, Gladys McNaughton of PA, his in-law’s, Derrick and Natasha Laurie of Waterbury, his siblings; Kimiko Acri of NJ, Gina Roman of MD, Marc Acri of Torrington, Ken Tenan of MA, and Kyle Sprano of Waterbury. In addition, he leaves his foster brother, Hunter Griffin, his sister in law, Ashley Jainarain, and his brothers-in-law, Ricardo and Nicholas Laurie. Steve also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many friends
