Steven Allen Baker went to be with his Lord and Savior from his home in Baton Rouge, LA, on December 31, 2024.
Steve attended Chattahoochee Valley Community College on a tennis scholarship and provided for his family as a process technician for 31 years at Exxon BRPO.
He was a man of diverse passions, from riding motorcycles and playing pool to tending his garden and cherishing all the family pets. His love for classic rock was the soundtrack of his life. As a sports enthusiast, Steve was always cheering on his favorite teams like the Saints, LSU, and Alabama. Steve’s zest for life was matched by his generous and loving heart, along with his spirit of service and help.
Steve was born in Birmingham, AL, and grew up with a profound love for the outdoors, finding joy and peace in nature. Whether scaling rock faces, scuba diving, or hiking scenic trails, his adventurous spirit was boundless. Steve also had a knack for all things mechanical, spending countless hours tinkering with machinery.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Bertha Baker, and his daughter, Shelley Baker.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kimberly Cox Baker; their two sons, Allen and Todd Baker; his brother, Barry Baker (Zac Abramson); his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tim and Jonna Cox, Susan Fontenot, and Becky Cox; and beloved uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.
