Steven Wayne Blalock

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Steven Wayne Blalock, 65, of Petersburg, on January 16, 2025. Wayne, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family. His love for life and his many passions will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Wayne was born on October 23, 1959, in Petersburg, Virginia where he spent most of his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie "Jackie" Atkins Blalock. A man of simple pleasures, Wayne found joy in the little things—whether it was spending quiet mornings with a cup of coffee and breakfast, enjoying the outdoors, or cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers. Fishing was one of his greatest passions, and many fond memories were made on the banks of local rivers and lakes and ponds, rod in hand, surrounded by friends and family. Above all, Wayne cherished time with his family. He leaves behind his loving, wife of 30 years, Carolann W. Blalock, a daughter Michelle Aldridge (Ricky), son Tyler Wayne Blalock, (Nicole), grandchildren, Christopher Dillon Aldridge, (Paige) Rachaell Lynn Sarvis (Joshua), a grandson on the way Abel James Blalock, his father, James Steve Blalock, sisters, Wonda Jackson (Jimmy), Teresa Andrews (Kevin) Sandra Reuss (Lawerence), and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025, in the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 3935 South Crater Road Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park S. Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
