Obituary of Steven J. Blatnik
November 10, 1942 - November 26, 2024
Steven J. Blatnik. Age 82 of Riverview.
Beloved husband of Cheryl Blatnik. Loving father of Michelle Blatnik, Mark (Jennell Belt) Blatnik and the late Michael Blatnik. Dearest grandfather of Natalee Kirk and Morgann Kirk. Dear brother of Margaret Garbus. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Steven Blatnik passed away peacefully at sunset on November 26, 2024 surrounded by his family. Steve had many athletic, coaching, and career accomplishments, but none were as important to him as his 57 year marriage to Cheryl. Together they created countless memories, traveled, and raised a beautiful family. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his children, Michelle and Mark, and those of his granddaughters, Natalee and Morgann. Steve was their biggest fan and loudest cheerleader. Steve's family and friends were dear to his heart; and, up until the very end, he told stories of past events and adventures that he shared with them. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
Steve would want people to remember that being on time means you are actually late, to help others as often as you can, and to give everything your best effort. Put your family first, tell them you love them every chance you get, and build memories that will bring a smile to your face. Choose friends that build you up, let you be your true self, and that make you laugh. Finally, Steve would want all of us to live life to its fullest and enjoy the little things.
Steve did not want to be remembered by his death, but rather by his life. A Celebration of his Life will take place at a later date in early Spring. At that time, we hope you will come share memories with his family and help to continue Steve's legacy. Details will follow in the future. Your condolences can be sent to the family.
