It is with profound admiration and love that we commemorate the incredible life and legacy of Steven A. Courtemanche Sr., affectionately known as Steve. Born on July 9, 1946, in Winchendon, Massachusetts, he was a compassionate soul, a dedicated professional, a generous provider, and a loving family man. His life was a testament to the quote, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."

Steve led an accomplished 35-year career as a Mechanical Engineer at GE. Beyond his professional sphere, Steven's dedication shone brightly in his work as a caregiver at Courtemanche Veterans Home, which he owned and operated. He was a beacon of hope and a pillar of strength to 14 veterans, offering them not just a place to stay, but a home brimming with love and understanding. His selfless service and generosity extended far beyond the four walls of the Veterans Home; he touched many lives and left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Steven's love for his family was unmatched. His beloved wife, Barbara Courtemanche, and his cherished children: Tiffany Courtemanche, Steve (Edna) Jr., and Christopher (Nidia) Courtemanche, were the center of his universe. He was also a doting grandfather to Kody (Jordyn) Knowlton, Kyle (Carissa) Courtemanche, Christopher Jr., and Mariah North. Steven was blessed to have met his great-grandchildren, Jayden Bittick and Macie Knowlton, who will undoubtedly carry on his legacy. Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Roy, and his grandmother, Meme Roy.

Steven's life was a true embodiment of the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Steven A. Courtemanche Sr. didn't just succeed; he excelled. His life was a celebration of love, service, and family; he will be remembered as a beacon of compassion, dedication, and generosity.
