Steven Samuel Cox left us on Monday July 15, 2024. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered for his dry sense of humor, quick wit, his easy sarcasm and his enjoyment of the good life.
Steve was born in Dallas on April 18,1947 to his parents Doris Virginia Dietz Cox and Hubert Warren COX. He graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School and attended North Texas University in Denton where he studied business and economics.
Steve spent his business career in sales with AT&T and Bell System entities formerly known as Southwestern Bell Telephone and Lucent Technologies. He retired briefly after 23 years then returned to the workforce at the behest of his former colleagues. He was then with Samsung and ultimately retired from Nokia.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Alan David Cox and his son Casey Warren Cox.
Steve is survived by more friends and coworkers than you can count as well as family members: Aunt Jay Dietz, cousins Doris Nash of Rockwall, Diane Ison of Kingsport, TN, Carla Bagdasaryan of Queen Creek, AZ Janice (Stumpy) Boroughs of Forney, Julie Beckel of Dallas, Doyle Allen of New York, Paul, Mark & Kerry Dickson of Oregon and Washington and Ann Cox and Stepson Sam Piassick of Florida.
Although Steve is gone from our sight, he made a significant contribution to his family, friends, clients and colleagues.
A memorial Service for Steve will be held on Saturday August 10, 2024, at T Boone Pickens Center 12477 Merit Drive, Dallas, TX 75251.
Memorial Donations may be made to T Boone Pickens Center / Faith Presbyterian Hospice or any charity of your choice.
